As we head into the summer season, the construction at Oakestown Intermediate is entering its exciting final stages!
Throughout the school, new doors have been installed. Classroom doors are equipped with both a keycard and a manual lock so that doors can still be operated during a power outage.
Inside the classrooms are new cabinets, whiteboards, and polished concrete floors.
The front office and media center have received desks with ample storage space underneath. The third picture shows how different desk sections are joined together before a countertop is placed overtop.
And around the outside of the school, concrete crews are hard at work pouring what will be the new maintenance drive, replacing what was previously an asphalt surface.
Stay tuned for later this summer, when furniture will be moved in!
