With students and staff settled into a new school year, we’re taking a moment to look back at the progress made across Grandville Public Schools this past summer. The work completed throughout the course of this bond, reflects the continued investment in creating safe, welcoming, and innovative spaces for our students and community.
Weller-Transportation Building

Work continues at the Weller Transportation Building, with several important updates over the summer. Overhead garage doors, including the largest at 12 feet by 14 feet, are now in place, and crews have begun installing exterior doors to fully enclose the building. Inside, walls are painted, ceilings are being coated, and major equipment such as a jib crane, air compressors, and boiler has been installed. These steps bring the project closer to being fully operational.

Grandville Maintenance Building

The Grandville Maintenance Building saw major progress this summer as it moves from framing toward more detailed interior work. Over 4,000 square feet of concrete flooring was poured, and the exterior zip wall sheathing is installed and sealed to protect the building from weather. Inside, framing is complete for work bays, a breakroom, two bathrooms, an office, and a workstation room, defining the layout of the facility. Closed cell spray foam insulation was also applied, improving energy efficiency, and crews have started roughing in the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems that will power the space.
The Weller Transportation Building and Grandville Maintenance Building are important updates to district operations. Once complete, both facilities will provide functional, efficient spaces to support the day-to-day operations that keeps Grandville Public Schools running. Thank you again to our community for your support.
